SmartLynx Estonia training flight experienced technical difficulties during landing at Tallinn Airport on 28 February

SmartLynx Estonia, SmartLynx Airlines subsidiary, experienced technical difficulties during landing at Tallinn Airport on the 28th of February, approximately at 17:10.
The aircraft was an Airbus A320-214 with register sign ES-SAN and operating under flight number MYX9001. The year of manufacture of the aircraft is 2000, its total flight hours 45002.

This was a training flight and therefore no passengers were onboard. All six crew members – two pilots, four trainees - and one inspector from Estonian CAA (Civil Aviation Administration) were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Two crew members needed medical assistance and were brought to the hospital, no serious injuries were detected. Both left the hospital the same evening. Immediate psychological assistance was provided to all crew members of the affected flight.

This morning, 1 March at 8:30, after all necessary preparations, the aircraft was towed from the runway and moved to the parking stand at the airport.

Investigation of this incident is in the process, SmartLynx actively cooperates with investigation team and all responsible authorities. All our aircraft are checked regularly according to the strictest procedures and we want to emphasize that the safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority.
