21.11.2017

In November 2017 SmartLynx Airlines and BAA Training signed an open-end agreement about cooperation in the pilot study process, namely its final stage – base training. According to it, SmartLynx Training Centre will provide base training to BAA Training students-prospective pilots specializing in Airbus A320 type aircraft.

„Airbus A320 Type Rating training holds a substantial part of the training capacity provided by BAA Training. The Base Training is an integral and significant part of the training since it develops hands-on skills for the pilots in the real aircraft. As aviation training centre we aim to develop partnerships to ensure the most efficient Base Training for our students, therefore we are glad to be able to partner with SmartLynx Training centre”, comments Sigitas Vicius, TRTO Product Development Manager at BAA Training Aviation Academy.

SmartLynx Training Centre performs Base training in both Riga and Tallinn. It includes several take-offs and landings depending on student experience and is conducted in accordance with EASA OPS requirements.

First two students of BAA Training did their base training 15 November 2017 with one of the SmartLynx most experienced pilots-professional instructors Boncho Dimitrov. Both young pilots were extremely excited and satisfied with their experience during base training at SmartLynx Training Centre characterizing it as well organized, smooth and effective.

SmartLynx Airlines has already a cooperation with BAA Training within a brand-new project – SmartLynx cadet program launched at the end of 2016.
