SmartLynx Technical Operations consists of Engineering,  Logistics and Maintenance Control Center (MCC) divisions.

Our small but efficient Engineers' team assure continuing airworthiness of SmartLynx fleet.

SmartLynx Logistics team is ready 24/7 to deliver spare parts to any of SmartLynx base all over the world. Interesting fact is that Logistics department every day recieves 800 - 1200 e-mails that have to be read and answered ASAP.
 
  

TECHNICAL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Main duties:
  • Control the maintenance status of the aircraft
  • Manage the day to day operation to the highest levels of OTP
  • Maintain the fleet TDR to agreed levels
  • Maintain the MEL/ADD levels to the agreed levels
  • Ensure that aircraft maintenance in all cases is performed by approved Part-145 organization in a timely manner and to a standard acceptable to SmartLynx Airlines
  • Manage the system to control all officially recognized defects and damages affecting to safe operation
  • Manage the system to control of MEL time limits and MEL time limit overrun
  • Control the maintenance status of the aircraft
  • Ensure Planning, Engineering, MCC are all aligned to the same goal on OTP and standards
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable management experience in an airline environment
  • At least 5 years in senior management role
  • Very good communication skills (both: written and spoken)
  • Excellent people management skills (both: internally and externally)

    AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

    Duties:

    • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on an A320 series aircrafts at SmartLynx operating bases in Riga (RIX) and Tallinn (TLL);
    • Issue CRS for the work carried out;
    • Regularly monitor the aircraft defect status to ensure defects are cleared during maintenance inputs without causing operation delay while adhering to the required standard;
    • Maintain high level of safety awareness;
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment;
    • Carry out technical and administrative tasks as requested by direct supervisor.

    Requirements:

    • Hold Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance license; or
    • A320 type rating (CFM56 and V2500) endorsed with recent experience of 6 months within last 2 years will be considered as an advantage;
    • Minimum of six years in aviation maintenance out of which 3 years as A320-type certifying engineer;
    • Valid medical certificate;
    • Valid training certificates: legislation, Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety, EWIS;
    • Willing to work in shifts (including nights);
    • Good English communication skills.

    CAMO ENGINEER (based in MALTA)

    Duties:

    • Ensure aircraft are maintained in airworthy condition;
    • Control AMP development and approval;
    • Control Ads, SBs, MODs, Engines and LG LLPs, repairs;
    • Participate in handling of occurrence reports;
    • To attend (by remote means) the daily operational meeting for aircraft status update;
    • Review the daily status report for deferred defects;
    • Liaise with MCC for planned workload for following 3 days (rolling);
    • Liaise with MCC for planned workload deferred defect closure;
    • To maintain the MEL/ deferred rates within the limits set by the Engineering and Maintenance Director;
    • Keep the Engineering and Maintenance Director abreast of any issues related to performance and safety;
    • Review Work Orders and approve as necessary;
    • In conjunction with the Engineering and Maintenance, review the Reliability Reports and make recommendations for improvements etc.;
    • To maintain a record keeping system for all related aircraft documents;
    • Ensure all aircraft required certificates are valid and in date;
    • Ensure all maintenance suppliers are performing as agreed and to contract.
    Requirements:

    • Hold Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance license; or
    • Through assessment of competence prove sufficient knowledge to interpret maintenance requirements into maintenance tasks; or
    • Aeronautical Engineering university degree;
    • At least 2 years of experience with an air carrier, commercial operator;
    • Have relevant aircraft type training or familiarization courses completed;
    • Good knowledge of EASA rules and regulations, Part-145 and Part-M;
    • Good knowledge of English language;
    • Good knowledge and experience in operating computer software programs and handling computer data and information.

    SYSTEM ENGINEER

    Duties:

    • Provide instructions for defect rectification to AMO;
    • Provide support to MCC and AMO when required;
    • Assist in troubleshooting aircraft systems rectifying the repeated defects;
    • Provide assistance to Reliability Engineer in respect to repetitive / chronic Defects;
    • Initiate necessary additional MP tasks and implement them;
    • Ensure that applicable requirements of AIR OPS Subpart D are complied with the SmartLynx aircraft;
    • Maintain Aircraft Build in OASES – ATA structure and positions;
    • Maintain part numbers and part interchangeability information in OASES and advise to Logistics when required;
    • Configure aircraft systems of the new a/c for acceptance into the fleet;
    • Prepare instructions for defect and damage rectification with an approved standard;
    • Participate in preparation of work scope for aircraft heavy maintenance;
    • Assist Maintenance Planning and Logistics in preparation of spares and tools provisioning for the introduction of aircraft into the fleet;
    • Monitor on-going maintenance activities, critical paths and identify off-schedule conditions;
    • Prepare and issue engineering orders, work cards and guidelines for work procedures in compliance with maintenance data;
    • Liaise with aircraft and component manufacturers when required;
    • Assist in preparation of Minimum Equipment List;
    • Define aircraft status and modifications required.

    MODIFICATION ENGINEER

    Duties:

    • Prepare and gain approval of necessary modifications;
    • Create Engineering Orders with instructions for work accomplishment related to modifications;
    • Perform analyses of service bulletins and service letters issued by aircraft and / or component TC / STC holder in accordance with non-mandatory modification embodiment policy;
    • Control and update of Modifications and Service Bulletins status;
    • Monitor, apply for and coordinate Airbus fleet retrofit campaigns related to Service Bulletin accomplishment;
    • Manage and control cabin configuration changes including preparation and amendment of Emergency Equipment Layout, participate and assist in updating of LOPA;
    • Provide updates to Ground Operations department of any changes caused by cabin re-configuration;
    • Monitor and evaluate fleet seats and interior condition and provide recommendations;
    • Evaluate all modifications to be embodied on the aircraft for effects on the flight operations crew;
    • Assist System and Reliability Engineer with chronic cabin defects analysis;
    • Maintain part numbers and part interchangeability information in OASES;
    • Update Engineering Data after a/c Base Maintenance Visit;
    • Control and manage instructions for continued airworthiness including maintenance (AMM, IPC, AWM, MPD) and operational (MMEL, AFM, FCOM) documents as supplements to the original manufacturers’ manuals;
    • Coordinate and communicate flight operations requests with regards to scheduled Modification or Service Bulletin;
    • Manage and Control subcontracted airworthiness activities related to Modifications and Service Bulletin;
    • Participate in a/c acceptance and re-delivery process to the field of responsibility.
    Requirements:

    • Hold Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance license; or
    • Through assessment of competence proves sufficient knowledge to interpret maintenance requirements into maintenance tasks; or
    • Aeronautical Engineering university degree;
    • At least 2 years of experience with an air carrier, commercial operator;
    • Have relevant aircraft type training or familiarization courses completed;
    • Good knowledge of EASA rules and regulations, Part-145 and Part-M;
    • Good knowledge of English language;
    • Good knowledge and experience in operating computer software programs and handling computer data and information.

                                                               MAINTENANCE PLANNING SUPERVISOR 


    Duties:

    • Prepare and issue all scheduled aircraft maintenance in accordance with maintenance programmes;
    • To manage and supervise the process of planning;
    • Control of maintenance status of the aircraft;
    • Control of work ordering process;
    • Control of the release to service statements, after the base maintenance;
    • To manage and maintain the Aircraft Continuing Airworthiness Record System;
    • To transfer aircraft airworthiness records, when applicable.

    Requirements:

    • Experienced with good sound knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance planning;
    • Ability to lead team;
    • Sufficient knowledge to interpret maintenance requirements into maintenance tasks;
    • At least 2 years of experience with an air carrier, commercial operator, one year in supervisory capacity;
    • Good knowledge of EASA rules and regulations, Part-145 and Part-M;
    • Excellent knowledge of English language;
    • Good knowledge and experience in operating computer software programs, handling computer data and information.

    MAINTENANCE CONTROL CENTRE ENGINEER

    Duties:

    • Keep Flight Operations Control Centre informed about HIL status and Technical issues which may cause flight interruptions
    • Coordinate with Flight Operations Control Centre unplanned aircraft change with regards to operations / maintenance limitations
    • Keep all applicable persons and departments updated on AOG status
    • Control of contracted AMO’s occurrence reporting system and reports;
    • As necessary request additional maintenance assistance outside office hours
    • Initiate if applicable and coordinate the issue of exemptions
    • Coordinate with Flight Operations and VP Technical regarding ferry flights and test flights
    • Control of ordered work (scheduled, non-scheduled) is performed in specific time limits IAW AMP, MEL, CDL, etc.
    • Control HIL status, defect rectification arrangements
    • Coordinate with Logistics regarding spares, consumables and equipment ordering
    • Coordinate aircraft maintenance activities relating to technical irregularities in order to minimize traffic interruptions
    • Coordinate MEL messages issued to Flight Crew at outstations
    • Ensure outstations have available maintenance support for fleet
    • Coordinate defect rectification at outstations
    • Collect information regarding technical irregularities on SmartLynx aircraft
    • Coordinate aircraft maintenance performed by third party maintenance organizations
    • Report aircraft maintenance and condition status to relevant manager every morning
    • Perform Production Planning function in accordance with procedures
    • Make a technical delay and AOG report and to correct delay codes
    • Coordinate transition to back up paper technical log system in case of ETL failure, ETL system recovery and ETL go live after ETL serviceability had been restored
    Requirements:

    • Hold maintenance technician license or aeronautical degree or through assessment of competence prove sufficient knowledge to interpret maintenance requirements into maintenance tasks
    • Good knowledge of EASA rules and regulations, Part-M and Part-145
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Clean criminal records
    • Computer literate
    • Experience in an Operational Engineering or Maintenance team
    • Good knowledge of English language (spoken and written)

    TECHNICAL RECORDS SPECIALIST

    Duties:

    • Maintain hard copies and electronical aircraft technical logs
    • Review hard copies and electronical aircraft technical logs to make sure that they are filled according to EASA regulations and company procedures
    • Update information in company database in accordance with field of responsibility
    • Enter aircraft flight hours / cycles and defects from aircraft technical logs into the company computer system when necessary
    • Review and store original paperwork from maintenance line stations in technical archive in accordance with EASA requirements
    • Transfer maintenance records upon request
    • Prepare monthly utilization reports
    • Update and enter aircraft components status in company computer system
    • Assist Power Plant engineer by processing engine reports
    • Cooperate with other company departments when required
    • Any other duties as required by the Maintenance Planning Supervisor.
    Requirements:

    • Minimum secondary education or a university student (preferably in engineering / technical field)
    • Good English language skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Organized, with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
    • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)
    • Understanding about EASA rules and regulations (Part-145 and Part-M) will be considered as an advantage
